4th Annual Community Block Party Anti Gun Violence Awareness Day

GOSO SAVE June 7 National Gun Violence Awareness Day flyer On Friday, June 6th, Getting Out & Staying Out’s SAVE (Stand Against Violence East Harlem) program will host its 4th Annual block party in honor of National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Taking place from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at PS 007 on East 117th Street between Park and Madison Avenues, the event will bring together members of the East Harlem community, GOSO and SAVE participants, staff, board members, and local elected officials for an afternoon of connection, celebration, and solidarity.

The block party will feature a community cookout, live entertainment, wellness offerings, games for kids, and encouraging speeches. In addition, numerous community-based organizations will be on-site hosting tables to share vital resources with attendees. This annual event is both a celebration of progress and a continued call to action to raise awareness about the gun violence crisis affecting our neighborhoods.

If you are interested in sponsoring this year’s event, helping to provide quality food, beverages, or entertainment, or if you’d like to volunteer your time, please contact Helen Stewart at hstewart@gosonyc.org. Together, we can create a safer, stronger East Harlem.
