When Goldman Sachs visited our Community Programs Office for a morning of conversation and connection, they brought more than just career advice—they brought hope and real-world connections. During a panel discussion, they shared their educational and career journeys, the tools that helped them reach their goals, and how they landed in their respective roles at the company. Even more impactful, they connected directly with the young people in our education and employment programs through icebreakers, a career “speed dating” activity, and meaningful conversations.
Goldman is one of GOSO’s longest corporate partners. Through them, GOSO has been introduced to some of our longest-standing volunteers and supporters who have shared money and time, lending their hard fought wisdom to help a new generation find their footing. Special thanks to Troy Thornton, who dropped some simple but powerful wisdom from his own journey:
“I believe that in order to truly be successful in college, you should do something you are interested in and passionate about.”
Many thanks to the incredible Goldman Sachs volunteers—Troy, Kevin, Allison, and Thora—for sharing their time, stories, and encouragement with GOSO participants!
