As the new school year began, GOSO launched our Back-to-School initiative to equip participants with the tools they need to thrive in the classroom. Our dedicated corporate partner, Macquarie, organized an in-office supply drive that resulted in nearly 75 backpacks filled with school essentials. These donations supported participants at both our Community Programs office and families within the wider community.
To celebrate this incredible effort, we welcomed Macquarie volunteers to GOSO for our first day of classes. The event marked both the kickoff of the school year and the official start of our GED Foundations program, a GOSO initiative designed to help participants build the skills and confidence needed before tackling GED testing. Together, participants and volunteers played icebreakers, stuffed backpacks with school supplies, and distributed them to students.
Through this celebration, we highlighted the power of education, partnership, and community in setting participants up for success. Thank you, Team Macquarie, for your unwavering dedication to GOSO and our young participants.
