GOSO Joins Other East Harlem Based Community-Based Organizations (CBO) to Collaborate on Neighborhood Issues

Last Wednesday GOSO’s Stand Against Violence East Harlem (SAVE) was proud to co-organize a mixer for East Harlem’s Community-Based Organizations to exchange information, brainstorm around on issues we are all facing, and establish lines of communication that will help us collaborate, organize and create community-focused opportunities. Throughout the morning, representatives from the twelve CBOs discussed shared community challenges and began brainstorming possible solutions, with special emphasis being placed on efficient cross-organization communication to create an environment of mutual support. Many thanks to Union Settlement for hosting the meeting, and to Eli Zabart for generously providing brunch!

And there’s more to come! The group will establish a listserv to continue developing new partnerships and hopes to meet quarterly going forward. Do you represent a Community-Based Organization in Harlem interested in joining quarterly mixers? Contact GOSO’s Manager of Strategic Partnerships Hanna Betts at hbetts@gosonyc.org.

Thanks for a great meetup, and until next time!
