Learning the Tricks of the Trade at #PizzaSchool

Discs of dough were flying as GOSO Guys, joined by volunteers from Deloitte and Debevoise & Plimpton, learned how to make the perfect New York City pizza pie at #PizzaSchool.

From GOSO offices on 116th Street, we ventured south to the Lower East Side. The delicious smell of red sauce and fresh pizza toppings greeted us, along with some samples to fuel the Guys and volunteers through their initialing lessons. Over talk of toppings (which is your favorite?) and technique, the group got to know one another and shared conversations about career goals, educational journeys, and summer plans. Pizzas prepped, the group sent the pies into the oven as our friends from Deloitte (our 2017 Corporate Partner of the Year) and Debevoise & Plimpton (our 2018 Corporate Partner of the Year) talked to the Guys one-on-one, learning more about the daily challenges they overcome — sometimes as simple as securing a MetroCard to reach their internship or courses at GOSO’s Education Center.
