GOSO continues doing the work in 2026. Last year, we welcomed over 1,300 young people into our family. Some needed basic necessities as they reentered their communities. Others sought to help stop violence in their neighborhoods. Many came looking for educational support or job training. Whatever their needs, our team showed up with open hearts and practical solutions.

It’s amazing to think how far we’ve come since Mark Goldsmith started GOSO in 2004 in that small storefront with just a handful of staff. Today, we’ve grown to 50 team members working across New York City, but our purpose remains the same: to believe in people when they need it most and to provide the tools for successful reentry and stable lives.
