This month, GOSO’s Cure Violence program, SAVE (Stand Against Violence East Harlem), is celebrating 10 years of showing up for East Harlem, connecting our community with the tools, resources, and support needed to break cycles of violence and build the safer neighborhoods we all deserve.

For a decade, SAVE has been on the ground: mediating conflicts before they escalate, mentoring young people who need someone to believe in them, and proving every day that peace isn’t just possible, it’s within reach. This January, we marked this incredible milestone with Peace Week, a celebration that began on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday and honored how far we’ve come while reminding us there’s still work to do.

Violence isn’t something we have to accept. It’s preventable. And for 10 years, SAVE has shown us that when communities have the right support and people who refuse to give up, real transformation happens. Click here to hear directly from our SAVE team about what these 10 years have meant.
