Otima Brown, Social Distancing Diplomat Supervisor
Otima Brown has been a self-appointed advocate in the community for several years. She has worked for SCAN Johnson Center as the Activity Specialist where she organized fundraisers, trips and events, which gave her a chance to give back to her community and connect with the youth in the East Harlem community. Knowing and having been through some of the same issues that our youth are dealing with today is what motivates her to put forward efforts that will deter them from making poor decisions.
During the summer of 2020, Otima was blessed with the opportunity to work at SAVE as the Social Distancing Diplomat Supervisor. Otima is currently responsible for managing a team of Social Distancing Diplomats whose responsibilities include handing out PPE and public education material in the community. They also educate and encourage residents to practice social distancing. Otima will become a permanent team member as a SAVE Outreach Worker in January of 2021.
