Job Title: Staff, Operations — Finance Analyst

Objective of Role: The Staff, Operations – Finance Analyst provides financial analysis and support within the Finance team and works cross functionally to support planning, analysis and decision-making throughout the organization. The right candidate is organized, analytical, and proactive with a general understanding of city, state, and federal grant processes and reporting. This role requires proficiency in reporting, forecasting, modeling, and Excel. This includes analyzing financial performance and financial forecasting, planning, budgeting, and analysis to support various areas within the organization to achieve goals and objectives. Responsibilities include preparing reports, board and committee materials, working on government grant information, project management, financial analysis, and working in teams in the finance areas and other parts of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze accounting reports, budgets, projections, trends forecasts, and financial analysis.
  • Analyze data, financial and accounting systems, records, statements, invoices, and contracts.
  • Analyze and update policies and documentation.
  • Utilize accounting, CRM, data management, and prospecting financial tools and models, including Excel and Salesforce.
  • Recommend financial and operating improvements based upon financial analysis.
  • Coordinate with members of the Finance, Development, and Programs team and other members of the organization.
  • Participate in collaboration and lead projects and teams.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience in Finance; management experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software and tools, computer skills, and advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Auditing Standards a plus.
  • Understanding of methods, principles, design, and procedural methods used in data, accounting, and financial systems analysis, as well as government contracting.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply financial tools and analysis.
