Getting Out and Staying Out recently celebrated its 5th Year Anniversary at the Puck Building in New York City. Honorees included: recent Horizon Academy Principal and GO&SO Board Member, Gloria Ortiz; Board Members Richard Block and Matthew Bloom; GO&SO Staff Member of the Year, Roberto Moran; and a special award went to Christopher Bell of the Pinkerton Foundation. Our special guest speaker was Judge Michael Corriero, a past Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sister of NYC. And two recent alumni of GO&SO, John Darden and John Gonzalez spoke movingly about their struggles and successes.
